        Marlins finish 26 out of 98 teams in Cooperstown Dream Park in New York during Week #6 July 12, 2008

  

   Cooperstown Recap - July 12- 19, 2008

    The Motor City Marlins began the Cooperstown Tournament on Sunday July 13 by facing the Southlake Dragons from Texas.
    It was a well played game that was won by Texas by the score of 4-1.  The second game on Sunday found the Marlins playing the
    Forest Hill Express from Maryland. The Marlins defeated the express 7-2.  On Monday July 14 The Powder Spring Blaze from
   Georgia defeated the Marlins 11-9. In the second game on Monday the Marlins faced the Tinley Park Bobcats from Illinois.   
   The Marlins beat the Bobcats by the score of  6-2. On Tuesday July 15 the Marlins played the North Howell Thunder from New Jersey.
   The game was won by the Marlins by the score of 11-6.  The second game of the day was won by the Marlins who faced the Timber lane 
   Hornets from New Hampshire by the score of 13-6. Game 7 that was schedule on Wednesday July 16 against the TC Predator was canceled.

   The Marlins began the 98 team single elimination Tournament rank #26.  Due to their ranking they received two byes. Their opponent in the  
   third round was the Three Village Yankees from New York rank #39.  The Marlins defeated the Yankees by the score of 10-5.  
   The Marlins next opponent was the Number 7 rank Beaver Valley Red from Pennsylvania. The Marlins lost 12-0 to the team from Pennsylvania
    who was the eventual week #6 Champion by defeating the #1 rank team 2-1 the Jax Storm from Florida.

      The Motor City Marlins had a successful Oxford CABA Tournament. 

      They Finish the Tournament 3-0 by Beating the Oxford Panthers 8-4,   Eastside Eagles 12-2, and Jet Box Baseball 6-0

      Bad weather canceled the Championship game Between the Marlins and the Oxford Wildcats.

      The Motor City Marlins take third place in the USSSA Octoberfest 12U division  in Canton Michigan. 
      The boys played an exciting brand of baseball which included two come from behind wins 
      in the last inning.

     The Motor City Marlins played together as a team for the first time in the Triple Crown Fall Classic this past weekend
      where they were runners-up in the 12U division. Good job Boys.
